Most AI consultants start by asking what model you want to use. I start by asking if you're ready to use any models at all.
Every engagement begins like a clinical assessment—because that's what it is. Before we discuss RAG architectures or fine-tuning strategies, I need to understand:
Where can AI truly add value? Not "we want to use it", but what human workflow is truly ripe for an agentic reimagining? What decisions need to get better and better over time? What problems keep your team up at night? Is AI the ethical choice for your use case?
What's your ground truth? Tell me about your business goals. Show me your messy data. AI is only as good as the data it learns from.
Who needs to trust this? Your clinicians? Your compliance officer? Your customers? Auditors? Trust requirements shape everything—from explainability to audit trails to what "good enough" actually means.
What constraints matter? HIPAA? SOC2? FDA? Budget? Timeline? Team capacity?
Then—and only then—do we talk about whether AI makes sense.
Sometimes the answer is "yes, here's exactly how." Sometimes it's "not yet, fix these three things first." Sometimes it's "AI isn't the problem, your workflow is."
I won't sell you a solution you're not ready for. I won't build a system that can't pass an audit. And I won't automate away the judgment calls that only humans should make.

Why This Approach
I have a master's in health data science with deep experience in both supervised and unsupervised machine learning. I've spent 12 years as a registered nurse and 15 years building software, including HIPAA/SOC2 compliant systems that passed real audits.
I teach statistics and machine learning to graduate students: I don't just use these tools, I explain how they work, when they fail, and why your 95% accuracy model might still be useless in production. I understand confusion matrices, bias-variance tradeoffs, cross-validation, and the statistical foundations beneath the APIs.
I know what 'production-ready' actually means in regulated environments because I've built it, lived it, and taught it.
